New Site For El' Uno: Kukwaba District

Its been hectic looking for a new site since we lost the Karamajiji plot to greed and corruption. Our search for a new place has taken us to several undeveloped green areas dotted across Abuja. Most of them are in the hands of people who will never develop them, while the authorities appear to be ignorant of the state of things. The legal entities with the deeds to these lands all lay in wait for prospectors like me - nothing but rent seekers who hope to make a future where they didn't sow.

Some of the sites are promising, but are far from civilization. Others are cheap but encumbered with legal problems. In all, we have finally bitten and swallowed the hard pill, scaled up our budget to ensure that we find a befitting site.

We have set our minds out of far flunked ridges to a more accessible active green area plot in the Kukwaba district - just next door to Karamajii. Right on the highway that leads to the Abuja International airport. Though pricey, the new site has a lot of things going for it.

1. Accessibility
2. Proximity to built-up areas and
3. Apparent lack of farmers

My findings reveal that the entire Kukwaba district is a green belt under the original Abuja Master plan. Running from the City Gate, up to the international airport and beyond. The new FCDA administration has however discovered that most of the plan has been turned on its head by previous administrations who have bent the rules and awarded these green areas to developers. There are now several housing estates where parks and recreation hubs should have been sitting. My guess is that this was done to increase their electoral promises of mass housing for all, but after what I have seen in the few years of chasing this dream, corruption and greed is not far behind.

On 28th of June 2017 (My birthday), I signed and sealed an agreement with Wale Ajayi Enterprises to develop their Plot 164C, a 2.5 Hectares plot near Kuchingworo on the Highway.
